Bus Scan
Cards
If you child rides the bus, they need to scan on and off the
bus for safety. It is extremely helpful in an emergency situation. During the assembly this week we talked about
the importance of scanning to all students.
Travelling Art Program
Every year
we have the touring Art program come to our school. It is a great program to expose children to
Canadian artists. Every class has art one piece displayed
in the classroom. We also like to tell a story with one art piece that travels
from class to class. The first class
started the story with “The Adventures of Jack the Rabbit” and every class then
adds to and develops the story. We will
publish the story when it is complete!
"Coats
for Families" Program
Leduc & District
Emergency Shelter Association - the Hub is once again offering winter wear, at
no cost, to those who need it in the Leduc area.

Adult
Winter Coats

Emergency
Preparedness
Throughout
the year, we have been practicing our School Emergency Procedures.
We have
already practiced an Emergency Evacuation and will continue throughout the
year.
Emergency Evacuations used to be called Fire Drills. Fire Drills are just one reason to evacuate the building
Over the
next few months will be practicing the following emergency procedures: “Hold
& Secure” and “Lockdown”.
These are
more serious in nature and we wanted you to be aware. Please
note that differences - information on our emergency procedures can be found on
our school website or by clicking this link.
In a real
event, each parent would receive notification via the Power School Alert email
and texting system.
We practice these drills throughout
the year to be prepared and create a
culture of preparedness, not a culture of being scared.

Weekly Update: November 6, 2015
Hello Robina Families,
This update is a longer one, so sit back with your favourite morning beverage, put your feet up and have a good read.
You will notice that our school will be participating in both Operation Christmas Child and the Devon Christmas Elves Campaign. The support for Operation Christmas Child was outstanding last year and although we want to continue to help support those in 3rd world countries if we can, we don't want to ignore those in our own community who are in need. We are sharing the information for both now so that you can decide which charity initiative you would like to support in the event you are unable to support both.
Thank you to all the parents who came out for the teacher meetings this past week. It was wonderful to see so many of you attend as well as support our library with a Book Fair purchase. The library will receive roughly $3,000.00 in books thanks to support of the book fair. Delphine in 2C, Brody in 1D and Serenity in 3D were the golden ticket winners and Heaven and 3A each won $25 dollars in book fair prizes. Also Mrs. Webb sends out a huge thank you to Shantell Galloway and Kristina Rowland for volunteering as well as Mrs. Milson and the parent council for help packing up.
CHRISTMAS CARDS WITH YOUR CHILD'S ART ORDERS:
Orders for these Christmas cards will be accepted until Tuesday, November 10th. If you didn't come to the teacher meetings, you missed out on seeing your child's art for the cards. Please contact your child's teacher to make arrangements to see the art if you need to before ordering. CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR A COPY OF THE ORDER FORM.
