Week Ending on December 11, 2015

Student of the Week Winners

Character Education Assemblies

Each week,  all of the students work on citizenship in our assemblies.  So far this year, we have been working on Respect, Kindness, Empathy.  We are working on teaching the students skills to be good citizens in their life.  We will provide more information in the coming months.

This month we have been focusing on giving.  Our school collected for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, in which we collected over 35 boxes. We also collected for Devon Christmas Elves.  We collected 700 food items, 100 toys, and over $150 in cash donations.  We presented the donations to the Devon Christmas Elves today and the Grade 3 students carried the items over to the depot.  Thank you to all who donated, it will be appreciated.

Christmas Concerts

Thank you to all who came out to our concerts this year.  All of the students sang beautifully.  Mrs. Stanski did a fantastic job planning and organizing the concerts. Thank you to the teachers, for their support, as well. A very special thanks to Home Hardware and IGA, who donated plastic bags for our shoes.

Fundsript orders have come in and been distributed, Thank you to those who are supporting our fundraising.  A draw was held on Friday and many students won gift certificates for purchasing fundscript.

Pretzels for Sale

The RBES Fundraising Committee will be selling chocolate covered pretzel rods on December 16 (Callebaut Belgian chocolate).  They are $2 each, and will be distributed to the students during lunch hour on that day.  If you are interested in purchasing a pretzel rod for your child that day, (and if you wish to buy extras as well...they would make wonderful stocking stuffers...), please send in your money between December 13 - 16 to your child's teacher.

Please note that these snacks do come to us as a variety pack, and you cannot choose which one your child will receive.  They are all delicious!

If you are interested in helping out with the RBES Fundraising Committee, please feel free to contact us at rbesfundraising@gmail.com
We would love to hear from you!!
