Weekly Update: October 9, 2015

Happy Thanksgiving Robina Families,

As I walked around the school this week and watched the various Thanksgiving activities going on around the school, I was reminded how thankful I am every day to work with children. They are all truly a blessing and each one is so very special! My job as a principal takes away a lot of my own family time (as do many of your jobs), however, I am extremely thankful to get to do something that I absolutely love to do every day. Thank you all for sharing your children with me!

Assembly this week:

Our respect theme will continue until the end of the month. This week our focus was on respect out on the playground and what that looks like. We also read a wonderful story about respecting our elders.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of our students of the week:

This week's wrist band challenge winner is:

Fire Safety Week
Thank you to the Devon Fire Department for bringing by fire safety books to the Grade 4s for Fire Safety Week!

They also have information for all of our families to help you and your family with a better understanding of fire safety.  Go to http://firefacts.org and you will find free printable activities, games, and a Parent Homework section, used to help educate parents on what you can do to make your homes safer. (I attached a photo if you want)

To help keep our school safe, we had a fire drill this week.  Our students and staff did a great job following our emergency protocols from Hour-Zero.  If you have any questions about our school emergency program you can check out our website at http://rbes.blackgold.ca/parents/emergency-procedures/.
