Weekly Update - November 4, 2016

Hello Robina Families,


Did you all remember to move your clocks back? I would hate for anyone to miss out on that extra hour of sleep this weekend! As you know we are coming up to a 3 day week -- which means a 4 day weekend for your families! There is no student of the week in the upcoming week and there will be no weekly update. This update will be it until the following week.

Congratulations to our Cross Country Team:

Mrs. Kaluza presented certificates to 67 Students who participated in any of 1 - 3 Events. They worked hard and practiced every day at lunch for 3 weeks. There were a number of individual ribbons that participants took home after each event they participated in, but we found out that a few of our students also won some team awards.

TRAVELLING ART SHOW IS HERE! All students will have an opportunity to look at the unique art at some point over the next 3 weeks. The art work will travel to each classroom and the students will participate in a collaborative story about one of the pieces. Thank you to Miss Potter and Ms. Coleman for organizing this!

CONGRATULATIONS MS. OSTONAL AND FAMILY!

Welcome Baby Liam! Congratulations goes out to Ms. Ostonal who had this precious new little bundle a few weeks early on October 13. Mrs. Ostonal is one super proud Grandma and we are all happy to have met Liam! He is as sweet as can be! We wish you all the best in your new role as Momma Bear Ms. Ostonal! Enjoy each precious moment.

Monday, November 7th - Beef Jerky Orders Ready to be picked up at the front entrance of the school between 3:00 and 5:00 pm!  All orders must be picked up at this time.

Monday, November 7th - PAC Meeting @ 5:30 & Fundraising Meeting @ 6:00 pm


Tuesday, November 8th - Parent Curriculum Night at Calmar Elementary School for all Devon and Calmar Community parents. This is your opportunity for input! 7:00 pm at Calmar Elementary School. The Alberta Government is reviewing and updating the curriculum, which outlines what students are expected to learn from kindergarten through Grade 12.
An online survey is now open to offer an opportunity for Albertans to provide feedback on the general direction for the development of all future provincial curriculum, as well as the strengths and gaps of our current curriculum.
The survey can be accessed at http://curriculumsurvey.alberta.ca, and it will remain open until November 18, 2016.

Travelling Art Show arrives at RBES - students will have the opportunity to view this while it is in the building for the next 3 weeks

Wednesday, November 16 - Student Leadership Conference (SWAT team attending)

December 6-8 - Christmas Concerts

December 6: Grade 3/4 Concert - 1:10 and 6:30 performances

December 7: Grade 1/2 Concert- 1:10 and 6:30 performances

December 8: Kinder Concert- 1:10 and 6:30 performances
